Beginning May 1, 2018 the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will have new administrative rules in place for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

The changes provide clarity to the existing rules, as well as establish the following:

• Requirements for application and eligibility for a certified technician;

• Requirements for the certification training program;

• Responsibilities of training program providers; and

• Requirements for renewal of the certified technician certification.
